Students in both middle school and high school are required to take science courses. These courses begin with general science, introducing scientific ideas such as geology, gravity, and chemistry. When students reach high school, they may take courses aimed at specific scientific topics such as chemistry, biology, and physics. After students graduate from high school and onto college, many college curriculum require students to take one or more science requirements in more intensive versions of chemistry, biology, physics, and other college specific courses such as organic chemistry, mechanics, and human biology.

Each of these courses require students to carry large, heavy, hard-cover science books that are hundreds, if not thousands of pages long. Carrying these science books from class to class can be a nuisance, but each science book contains information that the students need to not only pass the class, but to learn enough about a subject to further any interest of continuing to study the subject. Listed below are 5 of the most common science books that you will find in schools, universities, and libraries around the nation.

1. Biology

A biology science book is used in biology classes and may include marine biology, microbiology, or general biology books. These books cover topics such as cells, enzymes, plants, genes, and animals. Additionally, many biology courses such as human genetics, cell, human physiology, neuroethology, and plant biology may have their own science books.

2. Chemistry

A chemistry science book is used in chemistry classes and may include books on conceptual chemistry, organic chemistry, and general chemistry books. In these chemistry books, topics such as bonds, energy, density, properties of manner, atoms, and equations may be covered. Other, more advanced chemistry courses such as inorganic chemistry, nuclear chemistry, physical chemistry, and theoretical chemistry may each have their own science book used in teaching.

3. Physics

Physics books may include books on topics such as gravity, light and matter, Newtonian physics, and relativity. In these books, topics such as velocity, gravity, thermodynamics, and quantum theory. Other higher level physics courses such as plasma physics, fluid dynamics, atomic physics, and astronomy may have their own books

4. Earth Science

Earth science books include information about rocks, weathering, running water, earthquakes, plate tectonics, and volcanoes.

5. Environmental Science

This field of study is becoming more popular, as climate change and global warming become more common knowledge and corporations look for scientists specializing in environmental science. Environmental science books may include information about environmental chemistry, geosciences, ecology, and atmospheric sciences.
